Why grafted tomato plants

Just recently I read an article which mentioned growing tomato plants that had been grafted. The resulting plant exhibits the strengths of both its parents. The plant therefore produces its fruit much earlier and much lower down the stem to give you an even greater yield. Im not sure if there is a supplier in South Africa.

The result is, the best of both worlds, if one is willing to put in the work required for the grafting.
