How to add text to a gif in photoshop cs2

When you first open your GIF in Photoshop, you'll probably see a set of layers in the right side panel, but the image won't be animated. You can add text and shapes of different color, styles, and effects to an image. Importing a video and saving it as a gif technically isn't making an animated gif.
What's visible in the layers panel, will be visible in the selected frames. This step is important if you want the text to be applied throughout the entire animation. I'm talking about making an animation completely from scratch. Now keep in mind, I'm not talking about importing a video where each frame also becomes it's own layer.

You can view the animation by clicking on any frame in the timeline and hitting the space bar. You can create single-line text or paragraph text. Frames rely on the layers to make the animations happen. The new text you type is entered in a new text layer. To truly make an animated gif you need to understand that the frames found in the animation panel and layers in the layers panel are very different from each other. But if you can't figure out why that's happening, then you don't know how to make gif animations. Whereas the layers aren't dependent on the frames.
